Review of Lindsay Cross's "David: Men of Mercy"

David and Lori were at a crossroads in their marriage. For the past two years, David let his undercover work with the DEA cause a divide in his relationship with his wife, making her feel lost, abandoned, and unloved. His children felt let down. He got so caught up in his work, he couldn't understand or see how or why Lori was at the end of her rope. Finally, Lori decided that she's had enough, forcing David to really SEE the effects his "absence" was having on his marriage and his kids.

Well, now...such as life right? Sometimes we do tend to let outside forces come into our homes, damaging relationships we promised to keep safe. It happens. A lot. Some say sex doesn't resolve these kinds of issues between a husband and wife, but seeing as how its been so long since David and Lori shared any type of intimacy, I guess you could say that letting the woman you married know that you still loved her and desired her was a step in the right direction. I definitely didn't appreciate the way David made Lori feel bad for wanting him to pull back from his job a little and give more time to her and the kids. Of course, like a good wife she was understanding about the type of job he had, knowing that these cases can sometimes consume you. But I absolutely understood where Lori was coming from; that there needed to be balance. I really wanted to knock some sense into David for becoming too defensive about their issues. And his co-worker/friend didn't even offer up any reasonable advice. But what do you expect from someone who thought he had all the answers? Anyway, David had finally begun to see reason; especially after witnessing the pain and hurt on his wife's face when she came to surprise him at work and found him in what appeared to be a "compromising situation." It was as if someone pulled the rug right from under him, and he finally came to the realization that he was in imminent danger of losing his family. Thus, began "Operation: Save My Marriage, Save My Family." This was a novella, so not a lot of time to really explore much, but David and Lori were one hot and sexy couple. The passion they had for each other steamed up my poor kindle.😂💜💖🔥🔥 I kind of liked that they had a "toy bag." I loved that David was a dominating, alpha male in the bedroom and that's what Lori craved and missed. When you know what you like, and you love what you like, I say go with it. Get some! 😂 As interesting as this story was, the grammatical and proofreading errors did stick out like a sore thumb. There was a discrepancy in the story about the antagonist; especially since he supposedly died in a previous book. Also, I've always found it a bit unsettling when the wife is always blamed for problems in the marriage. Lori had nothing to apologize for when it was perfectly clear that the fault was with David. Other than that, I enjoyed the suspense and danger, and I was glad to see a certain character get what was coming to her. It was well-deserved!
