Jacob Chance's Delve

"I need to stop having these thoughts about her.   We can never be more than friends no matter how much I want to own her . . . and her heart."

                                                                               ---Derek Santiago

The Quake Duet was Jacob Chance's debut and introduced one of my favorite couples, Kyle and Janny.  In Delve, it's all about Kyle's best friend, Derek, and Kenna. Of course, Derek has been crazy about Kenna for years, but the age difference and the fact that Kenna is his best friend's younger sister, has him denying himself of ever being able to pursue her romantically.

Whether it's fate or not, staying away from each other just seems impossible, and the sparks do more than just fly. The chemistry between Derek and Kenna practically leaps from the pages.  The back and forth between these two definitely makes for some intriguing, funny, and sexy times.  The way Derek and Kenna work to get under each other's skin--the touching and brushing up against one another, the smoldering looks, the snappy banter--I'm surprised they didn't just spontaneously combust! When Derek finally has had enough and decides to go and get his little lioness, or Leoncita  . . . mmm-mmm-mmm! *Tugs at collar. "Is the air on?" Can I get a glass of ice water, please?!"*

Mr. Chance really has knack for writing the steamy and sensual! And the dirty talk?! Wowza! Derek says things that would make Dr. Ruth blush. LOL! (Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers who she is?! ) Seriously, some of the scenes in this book are hot enough to light kindles across the globe on fire! Derek and Kenna are one heck of a couple, and I really enjoyed reading the crazy and sexy turmoil they endured trying to fight their feelings for each other.
